OPTICAL CABLES, CONNECTORS
AND ACCESSORIES

Cables and connectors of diverse specifications are available at Cromatica for immediate delivery. The following cable types are usually recommended for their robustness and quality for use in automation, security and data communications:

• CORDEX - 1 multimode fiber 62.5/125 manufactured in Europe for Cromatica
• CABLES BX-002 and BX-004 of 2 or 4 multimode fibers 62.5/125 manufactured in the USA by Optical Cable

The CORDEX cable is appropriate for internal and external use, and may be connected directly without splices, termination boxes or optical distributors. This cable has 3 times more aramid than the optical patch cord. In addition, the aramid is of the toyron type, that blocks moist. The CORDEX cable is premium - halogen free, low smoke and flame retardant (HFLSFR). It may be used in closed environments such as tunnels, data processing or monitoring rooms, since in the event of fire there is no toxic smoke (halogen free) or flame propagation. Robustness, flexibility are the key features of this thin cable. It may be installed in ducts and internal pipe racks with no additional protection. Please see the additional specifications below.

The cables of the BX family, manufactured by Optical Cable of USA, are also appropriate for internal and external use. Their robustness is unparallel when compared with similar cables. While extremely resistant to traction and crushing, these cables are considerably flexible.

These cables may be installed directly together with the energy cables, in internal or external pipe racks with no need for additional protection through corrugated ducts or galvanized iron. They have internal sub-cables or patch cords that may be connected without slices or termination boxes. The BX cables meet many American requirements. In particular, they are gel-free cables and do not propagate flame. Please see additional specifications below.
