MICROSUX

VACUUM MICROMANIPULATOR

The vacuum manipulator - or vacuum tweezers - is a tool for lab use, designed for the manipulation of small parts such as electronic components for assembly on surfaces, or tiny mechanical parts. It consists on a small vacuum pump, connected through a non-toxic plastic tube to a piece in the shape of a pen. Needles of different calibers may be attached to the end of this pen. The caliber choice depends on the dimension of the object to be manipulated. The vacuum pump requires no lubricant, thus there are no contaminants over the manipulated objects - which is common on vacuum pumps that operate with oil. Due to this feature, micro objects for medical or pharmaceutical use may also be safely manipulated by MICROSUX. The picture displays a specific version of the micromanipulator, designed for the manipulation of radioactive iodine seeds. It is similar to the first model, with the exception of a stainless steel flange attached to the bottom part of the pen body. The flange thickness is such that guarantees the safety of the user hand.

MICROSUX can be controlled through a small hole on the pen body. Whenever this hole is covered with the finger, MICROSUX sucks the micro object or component, and releases it immediately when the hole is uncovered.

In order to allow the handler to use the hand exclusively to the manipulation of the micro objects, MICROSUX comes with a pedal switch key. The handler may keep the panel switch key on, but MICROSUX only starts working when the pedal key is used.
